Having a little break over the weekend from engineering CAD and dimension layouts. I was going to create a coffee related model/render for the Instagram #renderweekly coffee week a few weeks back but didn't get round to it, this was still in my mind and I also thought it was a good opportunity to try some glass/liquid material rendering in Keyshot and I could also keep up some modelling practice in Solidworks.

Here are the results! while creating these images I always get to a point where I feel making more changes isn't helping me but then the following day after I post, there is always things I want to change. With this render I spent a lot of time getting the environment/lighting and also the metal on the Coffee pot right. I'm quite happy with these but feel I should have spent more time on the coffee cup, I feel it's to dark for the photo, I was toying with a white cup but it was creating a lot of reflections on the coffee pot so in the end decided on a Coffee bean colour.

Coffee Break - created in Solidoworks -rendered in Keyshot

I did this render to show the inside details (filter area of the coffee pot).

Empty vessel shot

I learned lot's making this in Solidworks, it was good practice using some tools that I don't regularly use. I created an anisotropic radial metal material in Keyshot and learned more about the material graph.

Close up shot - I added bubble effects using Photoshop and Keyshot
