This was a model and render study designed to develop my knowledge further in Keyshot lighting, emissive lighting and material customisation. (I initially modelled the device using Solidworks)

Amazon Echo Dot - experimenting with lighting

What intrigued me most about the Echo Dot was the blue emissive light on the top of the device, I wanted to recreate this effect using Keyshot, I did this this by adding an emissive gradient effect within keyshot and then configuring the colours to match some pictures of the device I had downloaded. Whilst rendering in keyshot l I also felt the model looked rather lonely so decided to add some coloured lighting effects, this led me to experiment more with lighting effects and also produce a number of other coloured versions of the model.

“More experimenting and learning in Keyshot & Solidworks"

I decided to produce some further renders with custom colour versions of the device, I created a scene, adding several devices with different custom colours - camouflage, spots and gradient, just more experimenting in Keyshot and also developing my skills further.

I got a lot of positive feedback on Instagram regarding the custom colours, I was happy with the end results and had also developed my skills further.
